The Culture, Community, and Global Mental Health Research Lab examines the intersection of culture and mental health through both a clinical and a community/ecological framework.  Research in this group includes secondary analysis of quantitative and qualitative data collected in various community settings (e.g., public high schools and community clinics), as well as the collection of primary data in schools and community mental health settings.  Most students in this research group are part of either the Diversity and Community Mental Health or the Pediatric Behavioral Healthcare areas of emphasis, although some students are in other areas of emphasis (e.g., Health, Neuropsychology, Trauma).  Members of this research group attend research group meetings, collaborate with peers, and work in community settings.  The group includes a diverse collective of students, many with foreign language skills. Mentorship and supervision includes research processes as well as guidance with practicum applications and interviews, teaching and leadership, presentation skills, and other general domains of professional development.
